Ever wondered what our forefathers ate a hundred years back? At Immigrants, we want to go back to the basics and revive the tastes and flavours that were once familiar to our parents, grandparents and even great-grandparents. Our food menu consists of dishes from the major ethnicities of Singapore – Chinese, Eurasian, Indian, Malay and Peranakan. These small plates were commonly eaten at homes but are fast disappearing today. Each dish has a story to tell and most restaurants either don’t serve them or take the same painstaking effort to prepare them like our chef, Damian D’Silva. We want to reinforce the significance and delicacy of our migrant food culture at Immigrants.
We feel that drinking is just as important as eating. Hence Immigrants is the first of its kind gastrobar in Singapore, pairing “tapas” style heritage dishes with an eclectic range of beverages such as interesting craft beers, wines from boutique vineyards and even rare whiskies.
